Preservation, packaging, packing, labeling, and marking.
The lobster tails shall be preserved, packaged, packed, labeled, and case marked in accordance with good commercial practice. Commercial labeling and packaging, as may be augmented by the solicitation, contract, or purchase order, shall be acceptable. Shipping containers shall comply with the National Motor Freight Classification or Uniform Freight Classification, as applicable.

The following requirements are applicable when specified by the contracting officer.
Purchaser should specify net weight range II.
A. Commercial packaging. Each lobster tails shall be packaged in a polyethylene bag of sufficient length to allow a folding closure. Ten pounds of bagged lobster tails shall be packed and frozen in an intermediate paperboard or fiberboard container in accordance with good commercial practice. Glazing shall be prohibited.
B. Commercial packing. Not more than 40 pounds of commercially packaged product shall be packed ia a snug-fitting, fiberboard box complying with the National Motor Freight Classification or Uniform Freight Classification, as applicable, except metal fasteners shall not be used in the final closure of the box.
C. Export packaging. Each lobster tails shall be packaged in a minimum 0.004 inch thick polyethylene bag and shall have a fold-over or heat sealed closure. Ten pounds of bagged lobster tails shall be packed and frozen in an intermediate paperboard or fiberboard container in accordance with good commercial practice. Glazing shall be prohibited.
D. Export packing. Not more than 40 pounds of the product shall be packed in a snug-fitting, fiberboard box, constructed and close in accordance with Style RSC, Grade V3c, V3s, or V4s, of PPP-B-636. Alternatively, the shipping container shall be a wax-impregnated, fiberboard box, constructed in accordance Style RSC or FTC, Class I, SWCFI, Grade 200 of PPP-B-1163. Closure of RSC boxes shall be with hot melt adhesive in accordance with the Appendix of PPP-B-636. Each shipping container shall be reinforced with nonmetallic strapping or pressure-sensitive adhesive, filament-reinforced tape in accordance with the Appendix of PPP-B-636.
